  • 24% of Cisco employees with a PC switch to Mac when given the chance.
  • People with Apple devices at Cisco were 10% more productive than their counterparts with Windows devices.

"Apple’s place is within every business, if the business wants it, and technologies like ours can help enable admins to manage every platform without having to have dedicated resources that aren’t available in smaller customers."

What do you expect to see from Apple in 2024 for enterprise IT?

Michael Covington, vice president for portfolio strategy at JAMF

"We believe Apple will continue to invest heavily in 2024 to make Managed Apple IDs the standard for work identity. With this, more devices, both company-purchased and personally owned, will be enabled for work with identity at the core, something that is imperative for organizations embracing modern security frameworks.

"We also expect to see continued development of Apple’s system extensions to enable added value for enterprise needs around security, network connectivity, and identity to be met while simultaneously preserving the great end user experience Apple devices are known for."

Alcyr Araujo, Mosyle CEO

"We expect Apple to share more about how Apple Vision Pro will be supported as a work device, especially regarding remote deployment and management. There is a lot of excitement and anticipation about the benefits this will bring to the enterprise.

"Mosyle is confident that Apple will maintain its strong focus on creating and improving solutions that cater to the needs of enterprise customers, such as declarative device management and its endpoint security APIs. We anticipate continued Apple device growth among enterprise customers throughout 2024 and beyond.

"As a company, we firmly believe that it’s not a question of if, but a matter of when Apple becomes the leader in the enterprise market. "

Apu Pavithran, CEO and founder of Hexnode

"Firstly, in the wake of a recent zero-day scare, automated patch management is set to ascend to the forefront of cybersecurity priorities. Apple devices are under increasing attack and admins can no longer rest solely on the company’s security laurels. This shows the critical importance of swift and efficient automated patch management systems to preemptively address vulnerabilities and fortify defenses.

"A parallel trend that is gaining traction is the heightened emphasis on declarative device management. The autonomous nature of declarative device management has the potential to bring about a significant change and so we can expect UEM and MDM solutions to support these features.

"Finally, I agree with this article [on generative AI]. The convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and administrative functions is anticipated to grow throughout 2024. The fusion of AI capabilities with administrative tasks is expected to result in more sophisticated threat alerting mechanisms, providing organizations with enhanced situational awareness and even extend to offer seamless access to remediation tools."

Weldon Dodd, senior vice president of community at Kandji

"Apple will continue to grow in the enterprise — but in a new way. Apple announced Vision Pro would likely be released in 2024 and developers are already working on apps that take advantage of the new technology. Consumers and enterprises alike will find use cases we’ve never dreamed of.

"We saw this with the iPad making its way into the cockpit, iPhone devices turning into point-of-sales devices and the list goes on. Imagine Vision Pro at desks instead of monitors or in places like the operating room. It’s exciting to think about the possibilities."

Tom Bridge, director of product management, devices at JumpCloud

"Apple is expanding its focus on Managed Apple IDs, and how they fit into the world of corporate identity management. We’re excited to be working on the capability to federate with Apple Business Manager. Apple’s focus on security and privacy will continue to lead its organizational view, and the way it focuses on operational security and user privacy serve the company incredibly well in the enterprise."
